The Olympic Stories

The big party where Vancouver, Canada welcomed the world has ended. It has been an awesome experience.

The stories in this Olympic really brought the real Canadian Values out. It started with the young Georgian luger who died in the accident. The first gold medal won on Canadian soil by a young man who has a disabled brother. The female ice skating bronze medalist whose mother passed away a few days before her competition. And of course, the moment our Men's Hockey team won the gold...

There were moments that make me proud to be a Canadian, there were moments that really answered the question, "What it means to be a Canadian", there were moments when it is okay to waive the maple leaf flag and sing O Canada on the street. (even though, both the song (1980)and flag (1965)have only been around for less than 50 years)

I wonder, why can't I see the same thing in Taiwan? Where is the sense of being someone of something?
