The shame is people avoid the feeling ,and put themselves into chaos,like speed dating or e-harmony.

er... im going to a speed dating thingie this month (only because i need to support the club). i agree with you on the right person, right place part, but as we grow older that person becomes more elusive, don't you think? haven't seen that movie, is that good?
Yes, I also agree with you for that part, BUT don't you think when you are frantic search that person, and that person is playing hide and seek to you.

I am both encouraged and discouraged by your comments. Encouraging for obvious reason. Then I thought... your coworkers are mostly shy computer science ppl (tried to avoid geeks), of course they would be somewhat excited by it. I just hope get to meet some new ppl, not just ppl I already know. :)
